Kamwenge Secondary & Vocational Institute (KSVI)
The future of Uganda can be seen in the leadership of the next generation.

Our vision is to build the community of students in Kamwenge district to be self sustained and responsible leaders with a high sense of integrity and accountability.
KSVI is located on 20 acres of land in the district of Kamwenge, western Uganda. This area has a population of 300,000 people, and is considered one of the poorest among Uganda. Many are refugees or returnees who have been forced to leave their homes with nothing. The Ugandan government has offered land for these families where they survive on agriculture and live in grass huts. Secondary school is unaffordable for families, increasing the cycle of poverty. Some find places in public primary schools but have no way to progress to the secondary level.
KSVI's mission is to reach out and build up the future generations of Ugandans by equipping individuals with the provision of employable skills for sustainable socio-economic development in a Christian context.

Resettlement in Kamwenge District
Kamwenge is a remote District in Western Uganda. The PIM Ministry there is among the Returnees. They are a group of Ugandans, about 6,000 in all, who were expelled from Tanzania, having lived there over 30 years. The Ugandan Government provided land for them in Kamwenge where they now live in small villages.
- The land provided is far from sufficient for the size of the group.
- They have no skills to do much practical work.
- They grow food crops on their tiny plots of land per family for survival.
- There are no secondary schools provided - the nearest ones being miles away from the villages.
They produce large numbers of children--with the men taking on several wives. This only aggravates an already grave situation.
Partners In Mission Initiatives in Kamwenge
- PIM aims at providing Lifeskills and Family Planning education among returnees.
- We also aim at providing seedlings of various vegetables, which have been shown to do very well in the area. This will help give the much-needed nutrition to the population and raise income from the sale of crops.
KSVI has become a magnet for the entire community, offering hope for the future. In addition to vocational and secondary education, we offer:
- Strong Christian influence and spiritual development for the community
- Mentoring in nutrition and health issues
- Counseling for individuals and families
- Skills development
